Portrait

Delano van der Geest (1991) grew up under the thick smoke of Rotterdam, the Netherlands. As a child, he filled crates with his drawings, most of them faithfully kept by his mother. After a week’s internship at an advertising agency at the age of 14, Delano decided to study graphic design at the Grafisch Lyceum in Rotterdam, and he later pursued a bachelor’s degree in Communication and Multimedia Design at The Hague University of Applied Sciences. Since 2016, he has been working as a freelance graphic designer, and in recent years, he has accepted professional illustration assignments. "Where’s Dax in the Train?" is his first picture book.
