Who really were the Merovingian kings? Enigmas, mysteries and myths surround a dynasty that marked the destiny of Europe at the dawn of the Middle Ages. Their power, according to legend, lay not only in their political and military capacity, but in something much deeper and supernatural. The stories tell of sacred hair that was the source of their strength, of a divine lineage born of the union between a mortal king and a mythical creature, and of birthmarks that testified to their heavenly blood. It is said that they possessed superhuman abilities, that they resorted to black magic to eliminate their enemies and that their history was closely linked to the Trojans and to secrets that transcend time. But the mysteries do not end there. In the 19th century, a strange Merovingian Party advocated the return of the descendants of Chilperic to the throne of France. Decades later, the enigmatic writer Pierre Plantard took up these ideas again, claiming to be the legitimate heir of Dagobert II and pointing to the existence of a secret society, the Priory of Sion, which protected the lineage. Was he a visionary or a manipulator of myths? Did this dynasty really survive to the present day, hidden under the protection of these secret societies? Is it possible that their origin can be traced back to beings "arrived from elsewhere"? Where does history end and fiction begin in relation to these kings who marked a turning point? Enric Sabarich (El Prat de Llobregat, 1967) es licenciado en Prehistoria, Historia Antigua y Arqueología por la Universidad de Barcelona. En 2008 publicó su primer libro, Sabarich. Origen i evolució d'un cognom pallarés. En 2017, junto a los investigadores Xavi Bonet y Óscar Fábrega, publicó Compendium Rhedae. Cien años de Rennes-le-Château, una obra sobre el misterio del abbé Saunière que, por primera vez, toma como punto de partida documentación real y contrastada. A esta publicación le siguieron, en la editorial Almuzara, Regreso a Rennes-le-Château y La caja secreta. Posteriormente, publicó De Gilgamesh en Coco. El regreso de la muerte a lo largo de la historia y Misteris sota zero. Enigmes i anomalies de Lleida. Desde la temporada 2019-2020 ha dirigido semanalmente en Onda Cero Lleida las secciones Misteris sota zero y Els guardians del misteri. Desde 2020, ejerce como guía en Rutas Misteriosas, la primera red nacional de rutas de misterio en España, con Lleida Misteriosa y Lleida Paranormal, un recorrido único por los enigmas de la capital de Ponent.
