Jason Burkhardt was born in Milton, Kentucky, in early 1953. After moving to Florida and graduating from Florida Air Academy in 1971, he started a career in the Construction Industry.
In 1986 Jason began an active stint in Ministry with the Christian Homes at El Paso where he eventually taught the Word, preached the Gospel of Peace, baptized folks in the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ and directed the 3rd Step Feeding Center (which fed 100,000 folks a year). In 1990 he became Administrator of the Van Horn Texas Community Christian Shelter where he met Sara, his Co-Author of The BackYard Trio series of books, two years later.
They started off their lives together in North Carolina where they were used by God in different ministries and churches, along with their own construction company. In 2000 their stopping ground was Fort Worth, Texas where The BackYard Trio began in 2002.
