The book analyzes, from the perspective of the coloniality of power, the cultural and political work of colonial subjects such el Inca Garcilaso de la Vega, Guaman Poma de Ayala or Sor Juana Inés de la Cruz.

Sara Castro-Klarén is Professor of Latin American Culture and Literature at The Johns Hopkins University. Her fields of specialization are the Modern Latin American Novel, Literary and Cultural Theory and Colonial Studies.
