Buried deep beneath the South African soil lies a secret so ancient, it threatens to unravel everything we know about human origins. When a renowned paleoanthropologist is called to a remote excavation site in the Drakensberg Mountains, she expects a career-defining discovery. Instead, she finds the impossible: humanoid remains unlike any in the fossil record, and they're less than a decade old.
As whispers of African folklore stir among the local workers, stories of the Tokoloshe and cursed ground begin to take on terrifying reality. Something has been awakened and is watching. They must face the truth buried in the earth, and the ancient darkness that is no longer content to stay there.
