Environmental Policy in Asia

In Asia, export-led industrialization, coupled with foreign direct investment has been proved as the most effective and powerful source of economic development. However, it has caused serious local, regional and trans-boundary environmental problems. Governments in Asia have implemented a variety of environmental policies to address domestic environmental degradation. However, stringency, pace and enforcement vary by countries.
