Prof. (Dr.) Shailendra Kumar Arya presently holds the position of Professor at the Department of Biotechnology Engineering within the University Institute of Engineering and Technology, Panjab University, Chandigarh, India. He attained his doctoral degree in Biotechnology from the esteemed Indian Institute of Technology, Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi, in 2010. With an affiliation dating back to 2006, Dr. Arya has been a dedicated member of Panjab University. His primary focus lies in the realm of Enzyme Engineering and Bioremediation, showcasing a profound expertise in enzymes, wastewater treatment, and sustainable development. Furthermore, he has actively engaged in numerous international and national conferences, where he has featured as a distinguished speaker. Leading a dynamic research group, Dr. Arya mentors both Ph.D. and Masters' students, guiding them in diverse projects encompassing enzyme engineering, wastewater treatment, algal studies, and bioremediation.
Dr. Gursharan Singh is working as an associate professor in the Department of Medical and Laboratory Sciences, Lovely Professional University, India. He worked at UIET, Biotechnology Branch, Panjab University Chandigarh (Sector 25-B) as an assistant professor (Adhoc faculty) Feb. 2013 to June 2017. He received his Ph.D. from Biotechnology Department, Panjab University, Chandigarh (2009, July), and Postdoctorate from South Dakota School of Mines and Tech. Rapid City, USA (Jan. 2010 to Jan. 2011). He also did Postdoctorate from Agriculture and Agrifood, Canada, Quebec (June 2011 to June 2012). Further, his name is present in the list of 2.0% scientists of the world in the area of biotechnology for the last two consecutive years, 2022 and 2023, data released by the Stanford University, USA.
Dr. Madhu Khatri presently holds the position of Assistant Professor at the Department of Biotechnology Engineering within the University Institute of Engineering and Technology, Panjab University, Chandigarh, India. She attained her M.S. and doctoral degree in Biotechnology from the esteemed University of Massachusetts, M.A., USA, in 2009 and 2012, respectively. Dr. Khatri a mentor both Ph.D. and Masters students, guiding them in diverse projects encompassing nano-science, environmental biotechnology, and bioremediation. The collaborative efforts of his research team contribute significantly to advancing knowledge and innovation in these critical areas.
Mr. Sudarshan Sahu is a research scholar in Biotechnology Engineering at the University Institute of Engineering and Technology, Panjab University, Chandigarh. Since March 2022, he has been fervently pursuing his Ph.D., focusing on innovative approaches in wastewater treatment, algal studies, and bioremediation. His research endeavours exemplify his passion for addressing environmental challenges through biotechnological solutions. Sudarshan's academic journey reflects a relentless pursuit of knowledge and a profound dedication to advancing sustainable practices in engineering and biotechnology.
