Beschreibung

Tormented by financial woes? Saint Theresa and her fellow Carmelites have some divine budgeting hacks. Suffering from FOMO while doom-scrolling through social media? Mary of Jesus of Ágreda, who could literally be in two places at once, might just teach you how to finally keep up. Lost in the digital dating pool, waiting for one decent fish to bite? Benedetta Carlini's 1635 treatise on the seven infallible ways to spot a lesbian nun may offer some shockingly relevant dating advice.
Yes, this is a book about nuns - cloisters, candlelight and hushed prayers, in all their glory - but it's also a book about all women. Because, believe it or not, almost anything you're dealing with today? Trust us, a sixteenth-century nun has been through it, too. From money troubles to relationship drama, procrastination to imposter syndrome, friendship to creativity slumps, these ladies saw it all.
Infectiously witty and refreshingly wise, Convent Wisdom is an enlightening guide to navigating the chaos of the modern world, turning to the surprisingly timeless teachings of sixteenth-century sisters. So, if you're tarot cards and journaling are failing to bring you clarity, perhaps it's time to give centuries-old wisdom a try. You'll laugh, you'll learn and you might just find the solace you've been seeking in the unexpected company of some seriously savvy nuns.
