A young girl named Ling Hoi, her robotic pet, and her martial artist aunt try to solve the mystery of what happened to Ling Hoi’s genius scientist parents in this manhua infused with the energy and thrills you'd expect from a Hong Kong action film!
It is the not-so distant future, and both the mystical martial artists and advanced robotic intelligence occupy the same world. Against this backdrop, a family of brilliant scientists have vanished, leaving behind their eldest daughter, Ling Hoi, who manages to escape with the help of her A.I. robot pet, I.i. In a desperate move, she seeks out the assistance of her aunt, Wong Yam, at the Emei Mountain Spirit Power Academy, a training facility for women of great martial arts prowess. Now, Ling Hoi and Wong Yam must put aside family friction to rescue the rest of their family. But what terrible powers are responsible for their disappearance, and why?
Drawing on strong influence from Japanese anime and manga, Cyber Phoenix explores questions of scientific ethics alongside bombastic martial arts sequences! Creator Andy Seto is known for his work alongside legendary director Stephen Chow, as well as his adaptation of Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon.
Andy Seto has worked in comics for nearly 20 years. In 1989, he joined Freeman Publications Limited and created "Sword Kill," followed by the renowned "Gambling Saint." In 1993, he produced his first major series, "Cyber Weapons Z," in collaboration with writer Chris Lau. This series was later adapted into an animated version. With its creation, he became a prominent figure in Hong Kong's comic world. Fast forward to 1997, when he illustrated "Story of the Tao," originally a novel. He then founded his own company, Neo Company Limited. Over the years, Seto and Neo Company Limited secured the copyrights to illustrate "The King of Fighters Z" and "Saint Legend," both of which received positive acclaim. In 2002, Seto took on the challenge of producing the "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon" series, adapted from Ang Lee's film. The following year, he adapted the multi-award-winning movie "Shaolin Soccer" by Stephen Chow Sing-chi into a full-color, 128-page graphic novel.
