'Balancing of Interests as a Self-Defense Restriction? A Revision of the Doctrine of the Restriction of the Right of Self-Defense': Necessity and socio-ethical restriction are two aspects of the right of self-defence that do not agree with each other. The present study deals with understanding the two opposing elements as a single entity. The result is that self-defence is a confirmation of the duty to cooperate when state power is not available. And the socio-ethical restriction is the consequence: self-reflection of subjective rights.

Cheng Xu studierte seit 2011 Rechtswissenschaft an der Peking Universität (China), wo er im Juli 2020 mit der chinesischen Dissertation 'Fahrlässigkeit und Schuldprinzip' promovierte. Im Juli 2024 schloss er seine Promotion mit der deutschen Dissertation 'Güterabwägung als Notwehreinschränkung?' ab.
