The Delorean

This book offers a concise account of the creation of the DeLorean sports car, and a brief history on how, despite its short life, the car has come to be regarded as one of the most iconic vehicles of all time. Following its vaunted creation, dramatic ending, and starring role in the blockbuster Back to the Future trilogy, the car broke into the wider public consciousness. This book explains how its entrepreneurial creator, John Zachary DeLorean, was able to guide this almost impossible project to come to fruition, while at the same time being the cause of its almost inevitable failure. Included are recollections from some of the people who engineered and built the car, and rare images taken during the design and building of the car.

Chris Parnham is the Historian and former secretary of the DeLorean Owners Club, and a prolific owner having dug out and restored several of the rare European prototype cars. In 2014 he joint authored 'DeLorean: Celebrating The Impossible', a visual history of the company's formation and dissolution.
