In 2007, Mayor Fred Armstrong proclaimed April 14, 2007 as David Sechrest Day. Elected in 2011, Kristen Brown is the 36th mayor of the City of Columbus, Indiana. Mayor Brown is developing Columbus' first community-wide strategic plan, which paints a bold vision and defines the community's highest strategic priorities. She was born in Columbus and has deep roots in the community.
