Carol J. Dempsey, O.P., Ph.D., is a professor of Biblical studies at the University of Portland, Oregon and has been a member of the Order of Preachers for thirty-five years. She holds a B.A. from Caldwell College, NJ, an MA from St. Louis University, and a Ph.D. in Biblical studies from The Catholic University of America in Washington, D.C.
