Gunhild is a fiery girl who's the only Jotun raised in a human orphanage. Living in a world of Norse mythology, Gunhild is used to humans who adore the gods from the land called Asgaard while fearing the Jotuns, who personify the mystical powers of nature. Fred Tornager is a comics artist whose work is primarily inspired by shonen manga and western cartoon series. Born in Colombia and raised Denmark, she attended The Animation Workshop in Jutland, where she received a Bachelor of Arts in graphic storytelling. Fred works on multiple comics simultaneously, including her quarterly manga series Gunhild, a Nordic mythology adventure published in Saturday AM’s digital magazine Saturday BRUNCH. Her first Danish cartoon, My Night With You, a YA graphic short story, was published in 2020. In 2021, Fred won the Best Newcomer award, a.k.a. the Claus Deleuran Comic Debut award.
