Beschreibung

Portrait

Gustave Flaubert
French novelist Gustave Flaubert (1821-1880) is regarded as one of the finest authors in Western literature. He was born and spent a lot of his early years in Rouen, France. He attended law school in France but decided to focus on writing instead. In addition, Flaubert is renowned for his rigorous writing style. He is noted for always striving for ""le mot juste,"" or ""the correct phrase,"" in all of his writing. ""Salammbô,"" ""Sentimental Education,"" and ""Bouvard and Pécuchet"" are a few of his other works.
George Sand
The pen name of French author Amantine Lucile Aurore Dupin was George Sand (1804-1876). She was born in Paris, although she spent her formative years in the countryside before relocating to Paris, where she rose to prominence in the literary and artistic worlds. Sand is renowned for leading an unorthodox lifestyle that includes dressing like a man, smoking cigars, and engaging in a number of affairs. Women's rights and issues of social justice were frequent topics in her work. Her best-known pieces are ""Consuelo,"" ""Indiana,"" and ""Lélia.""
