Avinash Arivazhahan completed his M.B.B.S. from Pondicherry University and M.D. in Pharmacology from Manipal University. He has been affiliated with the pharmaceutical industry as a Medical Affairs professional since then. Currently, he is a Senior Medical Manager at Novo Nordisk India Ltd., heading a team of vibrant and dynamic Senior Medical Advisors and Medical Advisors for the Diabetes & Insulins portfolio. Prior to this assignment, he has worked at Sanofi India Ltd. in the Medical Affairs department. He has authored over 65 articles in indexed national and international medical journals. He has also co-authored textbook chapters, including several in the current 4-volume textbook series. In addition, the author holds an MBA in Marketing Management and a dual certification in medical writing & clinical research. Manipal University has recognized him with the prestigious “PRAISE” award for excellence in research during his postgraduation tenure. Apart from contributing to scientific projects, he is also an invited speaker and a resource person for several industry and academia talks.
Neel Jayesh Shah, M.B.B.S. and M.D. in Pharmacology from JIPMER, is working as the VP of a regulatory consulting firm in Canada with their in-house brand of mental health supplements. He finds regulatory solutions for unique and innovative healthcare products to enter the market and serve un-met needs. He does product applications summarizing safety and efficacy evidence for agencies such as Health Canada. He also brings to compliance, promotional material that enters the highly regulated Canadian market. He has also worked in clinical research, medico-marketing and is now leading this start-up into a growth phase. He received the prestigious M.N. Ghosh gold medal, 2015 batch, JIPMER and won Excellence award at Regulatory Affairs course at Humber College, Ontario, Canada in 2020.
Sandhiya Selvarajan, M.B.B.S., M.D (Pharmacology)., D.N.B., D.M (Clinical Pharmacology)., is currently the Head of Dept. of Clinical Pharmacology at JIPMER, Puducherry. She is involved in teaching D.M. Clinical Pharmacology residents and guiding Ph.D. scholars. She is currently the Member Secretary of the Institutional Ethics Committee (Interventional Studies) at JIPMER. She is also the coordinator of the Adverse Drug Reaction Monitoring Centre in JIPMER, functioning under the Pharmacovigilance program of India. To her credit, she has nearly 70 articles in indexed journals, both national and international.
Gerard Marshall Raj M.B.B.S. M.D. (Pharmacology) is currently working as an Associate Professor in the Dept. of Pharmacology, AIIMS Bibinagar, Hyderabad, Telangana, India. He has contributed and co-edited the Springer Book Volumes, “Introduction to Basics of Pharmacology and Toxicology – Volume 1: General and Molecular Pharmacology: Principles of Drug action”, “Volume 2: Essentials of Systemic Pharmacology: From Principles to Practice”, and “Volume 3: Experimental Pharmacology: Research Methodology and Biostatistics”. He has also contributed book chapters in other books. He has received multiple prizes for academic and research activities – including the Dr. Peter Sleight Memorial Award for outstanding individual performance and Dr. Salim Yusuf Team Award for best team performance during a course on ‘RCTs’ organized by St. John’s Medical College and Research Institute, recently. He was awarded the “Prof. M. N. Ghosh Gold Medal” for outstanding performance during the M.D. Pharmacology course at JIPMER, Puducherry, and has published many research articles, reviews, commentaries, and other papers in peer-reviewed and indexed journals. He has received extramural research grants from ICMR and Anusandhan National Research Foundation (ANRF). He has acted as a reviewer for several elite journals and for the National Institute for Health Research (NIHR), UK – Global Health Research Unit scrutinizing funding research proposals.
