Flash Forward: A Science Fiction Anthology

More than just a collection of short stories, this anthology is a celebration of the science fiction genre as a whole. Author J.D. Rice explores why scifi resonates so strongly with readers, and how the ability to safely explore complex ideas through the lens of speculative fiction helps readers better understand themselves, their own insecurities, and humanity as a whole.
The title of the anthology, Flash Forward, not only references the author's great love for the scifi genre, but also the form of the stories themselves. These are flash fiction stories - short, visceral, and evocative - that can deliver a gut punch in 1,000 words or less. Sometimes heartfelt, sometimes haunting, these stories waste few words in delivering theme.
Featuring 32 stories split into eight thematic groups, Flash Forward offers a reading experience suited for both binge readers and those who can only steal a few moments a day.

WHO AM I?
An AuDHD writer finding my way in the world of publishing. Moderator over at Debut December, former staff writer for SwitchRPG, and an aspiring game designer currently playtesting a tabletop RPG.
WHAT DO I WRITE?
Science fiction, fantasy, and a splash of horror. Most of my publications thus far have been for flash fiction, but I will be releasing my first self-published novella in 2024.
