Beschreibung

Dr. Amarjit Singh was born in Kashmir, a place renowned for its beauty including a multicultural balance until The Indian Partition forces his family to flee their beautiful orchards and homes. Generations of peace becomes a race for life, fearful of the people they shared community with because of religious differences. A bloody trail of fear and murder was hardest on Amarjit's brother Billa Veer Ji, a child born with the most severe form of Spina Bifida. Amarjit and his brother share a bond that encourages medical school despite the norms and expectations of inherited wealth and limited education.
Dr. Singh immigrates to America on a whim and builds a life with the goal of improving the vulturous medical system in India and one day returning to his family. The story follows Dr. Singh through a crushing realization after increased religious war, the development of a charity hospital with a partnership that turns sour after the death of his partner, Kirtilal Mehta, a hospital transformation in New York that equates to years of court battles and suffering at the hands of the Berger Commission.
