Meet Mary Bennet, Lizzy's younger sister, always in the background, never taking a risk in life until she joins her sister on her very long walk.

Meet Richard Fitzwilliam, soldier and adventurer.

Meet Anne de Bourgh, another privileged heiress staving off the debilitating effects of life's ennui with her dismissive attitude to most people (especially her cousins), events and things.

Starting off at the Via Francigena in England, then to the Stevenson Way and the Canal du Midi in France, before finally ending at the Camino in Spain; this book takes ODC for a very long detour through these three countries while walking, riding and even a bit of surfing along the way.
