By way of in-depth interviews, former teachers provide accounts of their teaching experiences that have not been heard before and are not likely to be forgotten soon. This book also examines "no excuses" charter schools as representing the convergence of paternalistic education reforms, neoliberal political agendas, and aggressive investment and marketing strategies by wealthy philanthropists and corporate foundations.
