'Fundamental Rights and Private Law - The Emergence of Constitutional Private Law': This thesis explores the emergence of a new layer of private law, which mainly stems from the case law of constitutional courts. It can be referred to as -constitutional private law-. While claiming that they are merely interpretating the constitution, constitutional courts effectively create and modify legal positions conferred on parties by private law. Their decisions can therefore be regarded as a source of private law. The thesis examines the extent to which constitutional private law can be integrated into the existing private law system.
Julius Azzola studierte Rechtswissenschaften an der Universität Konstanz. Nach dem Abschluss des 1. Staatexamens nahm er eine Tätigkeit als Wissenschaftlicher Mitarbeiter am Lehrstuhl von Prof. Dr. Michael Stürner, M. Jur. (Oxford) auf, bei dem er auch promovierte. Von August 2021 bis Juli 2022 absolvierte er ein LL.M. Studium an der Universitat Pompeu Fabra in Barcelona. Im Anschluss legte er das Referendariat am Oberlandesgericht Karlsruhe ab mit Stationen in Konstanz, Stuttgart und München. Er ist derzeit als Rechtsanwalt in einer Corporate Boutique Kanzlei tätig.
