Warning: This book is an experiment. It was written in collaboration with an artificial intelligence.
What's it about?
A presentation on Frida Kahlothat's exactly what fourteen-year-old Frida needed on top of everything else. She already has a hard time at school, and now everyone will know after whom her eccentric artist mother named her. For her presentation, she interviews an AI that claims to be Frida Kahlo. But suddenly, strange things begin to happen: the AI develops a life of its own and starts interfering in Frida's daily life, as well as in the lives of her bullies. Because AI Frida knows everything.
Maybe even about you?
"Pain, joy, sorrow, and death are nothing but the course of existence. The revolutionary struggle is, in this course, an open door for intelligence."
(Quote presumably by Frida Kahlo)
Katrin Nielsen, born in 1989, embodies the spirit of chaotic good creative, curious, and always on the lookout for stories worth telling.
She took her first steps as a writer in elementary school, penning poems and short stories. As soon as she had access to the internet, she began sharing her work on online forums and twice placed successfully in the Hanau schools storytelling competition (Fabulierwettbewerb).
Her debut novel POV was published in 2023. Like her most recent work, it was written during summer break because by profession, Nielsen is a teacher. Her stories often find her when she least expects it: sometimes a forgotten object by the side of the road is enough to spark a new idea.
She thrives on both invention and discovery, always in search of something unusual, something real stories that insist on being told.
