Alienation has become alienation and astonishment, and both have their validity. The difference between it and alienation lies in the form of the personal decision implied by the word "alienation." A person's alienation by personal decision is much gentler than a person's alienation by an anonymous, imposed, external decision. Just like reading an exciting news item in Journal Byte or watching a good film by an average director. Astonishment restores confidence in the future. Alienation restores confidence in my control over the fate of things. As for alienation, it is understanding, regret, and a long wait.
