Solar Gas and humanity dies, only a few people remain alive, now living in the commune. The play could not be published or staged during Bulgakov's lifetime. The censor's verdict was harsh: "this play cannot be staged, since Leningrad is dying there." It was first published in 1971, in Paris. It was released in the USSR in October 1987
