Description of the peer review process
The paper review process for the proceedings follows a structured and thorough double-blind approach. Initially, the editor receives the paper and assesses whether it aligns with the conference's thematic scope. Once deemed suitable, the editor anonymizes the paper to maintain the integrity of the double-blind process and forwards it to a reviewer chosen for their expertise in the paper's topic. The reviewer, blind to the author's identity, is tasked with a comprehensive evaluation of the paper. They use a detailed form to assess various aspects: the relevance and explicitness of the paper's aim, the applicability and clarity of the methods used, the utility and clarity of the conclusion, the clarity of the writing style, and the paper's original contribution to literature.
The reviewer's assessment includes an overall evaluation with possible outcomes: 'Not Suitable for Publication,' 'Submit Again After Major Editing,' 'Only Major Corrections Needed,' or 'The Article is Suitable for Publication Without Changes.' Additionally, the reviewer provides verbal comments on each evaluation point. The reviewer also indicates whether a second review is desired, with a re-review automatically triggered in cases of major revisions. Based on these evaluations, the editor may decide to involve additional reviewers, with a standard of at least one reviewer ("1+") involved in the process. This thorough review mechanism ensures a rigorous quality check before a paper's inclusion in the conference proceedings.
It goes without saying that both reviewers and editors, as well as authors, follow the ethics of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) standard. The final decision to accept the publication of an article is always with the Editor-in-Chief (Chair of Scientific Committee), who, however, takes into account the opinion of the reviewer.
Guidelines for Reviewers
Editorial Policy The editorial policy of our conference follows the same guidelines, which are in line with the "Code of Conduct and Best Practice Guidelines for Journal Editors" and other guidelines approved by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE). These rules and guidelines provide a framework for ensuring ethical and professional standards in the review and editing process. They cover important aspects such as transparency of the process, ensuring independence and objectivity of the review, respecting copyright and avoiding conflicts of interest. Our editorial policy is based on these principles to ensure fairness, ethical conduct, and high quality of the academic content of our conference.
