Beschreibung

This book comprehensively provides innovative technologies related to the traditional Chinese medicinal materials industry. It covers potential or practical applications, which include, but not limited to honeysuckle detection, extraction and functional component components from Rhizoma Polygonati, Panax notoginseng, and new qualitative and quantitative analysis techniques application in the chemical components determination of Codonopsis pilosula (Franch.). Chinese herbal medicine is a unique medicine that has long been used in the prevention and treatment of diseases. Traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) is mainly composed of plant medicine and mineral medicine. Increasing labor cost and shrinking labor pool negatively affect the sustainability of Chinese herbal medicine industry. Recent sensing and automation technologies has been directly used for traditional Chinese medicinal materials industry to reduce the cost or help to extract or identify active components from Chinese herbal medicine. This book can be used by undergraduates, or graduate students in the area of smart agriculture, plant science, and chemical engineering.
