Tarnished for Life? A Mail Order Bride Romance

In the quaint English village of Hayworth, Amelia Blackwood's once promising life took an unfortunate turn when her closest friend, the wicked Louisa Pemberton, viciously betrayed her trust and spread vicious rumors that left the poor woman's reputation in tatters. Though Amelia steadfastly maintained her innocence, the cruel whispers followed her everywhere she went, branding her as damaged goods unfit for respectable society.
Despite the scandal that had tainted her name, Amelia refused to hide away in shame. She held her head high as she walked through the village square, ignoring the pointed stares and hushed whispers that followed in her wake. I was born in England, but have lived in Southern California for many years. I m now retired and live in the Pacific NW in a little seaside city amongst the giant redwoods and wonderful harbor, almost at the Oregon border. My husband and I have one cat, called Midnight and she is featured in two of my latest Sci-Fi short stories. I love Science Fiction, animals, and trying to help others.
