Beschreibung

An exciting new space opera of blockbuster proportions from the creators of Warship Jolly Roger and On Mars!
After an interplanetary religious war that devastated the galaxy 200 years earlier, four gods nicknamed the “Great Quartet" decided to build a new empire. They established a violent and repressive dictatorship, annihilating all forms of religion other than that devoted to their own worship. The Divine Legions were created to enforce this order, but despite their surveillance, different species of aliens continued to secretly worship their ancient gods. This situation gave rise to a galactic market in alien relics linked to many now-banned religions. That means smuggling and the birth of Relic Hunters. Aspiring up-and-comer Xia, a human, and Little Mercur, a masked alien of unknown origin, are among the best relic hunters in the galaxy, and they’re joined for a new mission by Vitellius, a former centurion who deserted the Divine Legions.

Portrait

Sylvain Runberg grew up reading Batman, Asterix, and Spirou comics, which fed both his love of the medium and history stories in general. He now splits his time between France and Sweden. Since launching his career in 2004, Runberg has authored 140 graphic novels which have been translated into 26 languages and sold over three million copies worldwide. This includes multiple projects like the long-running Orbital series with artist Serge Pelle, and hits such as Warship Jolly Roger, Stieg Larson’s The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, Conan, Watch Dogs: Legion, and Zaroff. On Mars was Runberg’s first work with Grun, but they have since collaborated on other projects, including the recent Space Relic Hunters. Besides graphic novels, Runberg has ventured into the television industry, creating five TV series. He’s currently working on the narrative design of several video games including the Warship Jolly Roger adaptation by Proxima Studios. He’s also the co-founder of Dark Riviera, an international 360° IP boutique based in Stockholm.
Ludovic “Grun” Dubois was fascinated by American comic books since childhood. When he discovered the works of Moebius, however, he decided to pursue his passion and become a full-time illustrator. He graduated with honors from the Beaux-Arts de Bordeaux and began designing nature magazines while also experimenting with short comic strips. He soon joined the video game company Kalisto as a concept artist and designer, but as creatively fulfilling as these pursuits were, they still weren’t comics. He soon met comic writer Eric Corbeyran (No Future) with whom he would co-create his first full comic series, The Opal Conspiracy, in 2005. This was followed by Metronom and other projects before meeting Sylvain Runberg and beginning work on On Mars.
