The communication phenomena of fake news, social bots and hate speech dominate the discussion about the network-based communication culture. It is often forgotten that regulation in this area touches on fundamental principles of the liberal German constitution. The work approaches the question of regulation with the necessary sensitivity and analyses the basic decisions of constitutional theory and dogmatics with regard to possible solutions.
Tanja Schimmele studierte Rechtswissenschaften an der Eberhard Karls Universität Tübingen mit dem Schwerpunkt Öffentliche Wirtschaft, Infrastruktur und Umwelt. Während des Studiums war sie u.a. als Werkstudentin bei der Daimler AG beschäftigt. Ihre Erste juristische Prüfung absolvierte sie im Jahre 2017. Im Anschluss folgte die Promotion während der Tätigkeit als Wissenschaftliche Angestellte am Lehrstuhl für Staats- und Verwaltungsrecht, Europarecht und Völkerrecht von Prof. Martin Nettesheim. Seit Oktober 2018 ist sie Referendarin am Landgericht Stuttgart.
