Tim grew up in rural Arkansas and learned construction trades of masonry and carpentry from his father and brothers. After a rocky and uncertain youth filled with strife in the home and a dreadful encounter with frightening conspiracy theories and end-times preaching, he found an anchor and direction in marriage to a smart, levelheaded woman and in the pursuit of a degree in architecture. After finishing college, including study in Rome and a tour of concert halls across Europe, he returned to masonry work for a period to allow his wife to build a business in the old home they would restore. He returned to architecture some years later, but never found the desire to pursue a professional license. In support of his home and writing, Tim continues doing architectural graphics work, primarily drawing plans for houses of traditional style. Wherever he travels, he collects pics of the beautiful old homes of the area.
Tim is a dog person. Yes, he loves dogs. Parker is his faithful companion, discovered tied to a park bench as a tiny, joyous puppy with a bag of dogfood and Spider-Man blanket, and the inspiration for a forthcoming series. But Tim is also very doglike: faithful, considerate, and ambitious to please.
Tim has been writing steadily since 2002 and has published in a number of genres. His love of tinkering with machines, building and restoring beautiful buildings, and remnants of a dubious assessment of the future form the foundation for his stories.
