China-Africa Higher Education Engagement

This book explores China’s expanding role in global higher education, analyzing its development models in the Global South through initiatives such as the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC) and China's Belt and Road Initiative (BRI). Centering on African and BRI-country students at China’s first and only China-Africa International Business School, it offers fresh theoretical and empirical insights. Yi Sun, Ph.D. in International and Comparative Education from the University of Massachusetts Amherst, USA, is currently an Assistant Professor at Zhejiang Normal University’s Institute of African Studies (College of African Area and Country Studies), China. With over 15 years of experience in international higher education and a Master’s degree in Applied Linguistics, her research interests encompass China–Africa higher education, the African diaspora in China, and China’s model in international education. She publishes in both English and Chinese and collaborates on research projects with scholars globally.
