THE FLITLITS
--About Introductory Book 1 / KINGY BLING / Confident Reading / UK English Version
A kingdom by the name of Seldom See has a queen and king.
Royal Flitlit Queeny Squash rules the land along with Kingy Bling.
Potty Palace is their home. It sits inside the Royal zone.
The Royal zone, based at Plum Plot, is home to such a topsy-turvy lot.
Queeny bolts and stumbles while Kingy strolls and sings.
Kingy owns fine jewels and a zillion rings.
STORY 1. finds a parrot squawking while the palace staff are talking.
The bird tweets chatter without care. Hush-hush secrets are all shared.
Will the parrot share a secret tucked in Kingy's hidden pocket?
Perhaps a curious message drops from a heron's wing.
Could this summon to the palace a snout fixed to a spring?

Portrait

Eiry Rees Thomas grew up in Wales/U.K. among a creative family embracing a poet, calligrapher/sculptor, illustrators and a cartoonist. The coal-mining community where she spent her formative years was mostly Welsh-speaking, with the English language being introduced to the school curriculum at the age seven level. The musicality of the Welsh language is apparent in the author's unique lyrical voice, described in Welsh as 'telynegol' or harp-like, true to her Celtic roots. Her love of writing bilingually from an early age was given expression following a serious accident. This ended her career as a public health practitioner, peripatetic teacher and medical translator. Her experiences in the field of child development and the privilege of having worked with children and families with additional needs contribute to her work as an author and curriculum content creator.
