Reinventing Sierra Leone: Literary and Post-Conflict Essays offers a deep reflection on wide ranging topics on African politics and Sierra Leonean society covering issues of knowledge production, the politics of higher education, problems of nationhood, and the challenges of democracy and human rights. The essays address important questions on literary arts, cultural values, and the role of the media in African society.

Gbanabom Hallowell is Assistant Professor of Language and Literature at William V. S. Tubman University, Harper in Liberia. A writer and journalist, Hallowell was Director General of the Sierra Leone Broadcasting Corporation (SLBC) from 2010 -2018. He is the author of several books including the novel, The Road to Kaibara, and Manscape in the Sierra Leone, a collection of poems.
