Beschreibung

Mountain Walks Scafell Pike by Graham Uney is a guide to walking routes to the summit of Scafell Pike - England's highest mountain - in the Lake District. Alongside the summit routes, there are also lower-level alternatives for mixed weather or shorter days and those new to mountain walking.
Written by an experienced local mountain guide, the 15 inspiring routes include an ascent of Scafell Pike from Borrowdale via the Corridor Route, and the Mosedale Horseshoe across the valley, and even those who are familiar with the area will find new and imaginative route ideas to discover. Whether you aspire to climb Scafell Pike from Wasdale Head or you're looking for an alternative adventure, this is the only guidebook you need.
Together with stunning photography, each route features: Ordnance Survey 1:25,000 maps; easy-to-follow, detailed directions; essential info about public transport and safety advice; details about the terrain and navigation; facilities, refreshments and points of interest; and downloadable GPX files.

Portrait

Graham Uney has been exploring the fells of the Lake District from a young age. He's completed six rounds of the Wainwrights and has ascended many of them scores of times. He worked as the fell top assessor on Helvellyn for five years between 2014 and 2019 and has climbed that mountain over 600 times. Graham is a qualified Mountain Leader, Winter Mountain Leader and Mountaineering and Climbing Instructor, and runs his own business, Graham Uney Mountaineering, offering skills courses for walkers, scramblers, mountaineers and rock climbers. Most of his work is in training and assessing the next generation of Mountain Leaders. Graham has had over twenty books published, mainly guidebooks for walkers and including the bestselling Walking the Wainwrights, and has contributed features for over 40 magazines. He is a full member of the Fell and Rock Climbing Club, the Alpine Club, the Association of Mountaineering Instructors and the Mountain Training Association. He loves nothing more than spending time exploring the hills. Whether that be in summer or winter, on foot or on rock and ice, Graham is in the hills most days of his life. He lives in the Lake District with his partner Sharon, and their two dogs, Bo and Meg. www.grahamuneymountaineering.co.uk
