The First Seventeen

John's recall was amazing and you'll recognize that in his book about childhood. He recounts his early years with brutal honesty, but in a friendly, sometimes humorous manner. He certainly entertains us in reliving his many adventures.

At age 17 John joined the navy and after the navy, John worked as an electrical engineer-ending up at Lockheed. Ten years later his boredom led him to start a business in the fledgling personal computer industry. Health issues forced retirement and the writing of these books. He demonstrated an entrepreneurial aptitude from early in life, and was also a highly skilled negotiator. Whether buying a house, or curios at a garage sale - striking a bargain was a favorite pursuit of his. Other pastimes included; amateur radio, playing chess, eating seafood, and he was an avid movie-buff.
