Milena Herbig studierte Rechtswissenschaft an der Universität Freiburg. Ihr Referendariat absolvierte sie ebenfalls in Freiburg. Von 2020 bis 2023 war sie Forschungsreferentin am Deutschen Forschungsinstitut für öffentliche Verwaltung in Speyer. Im Rahmen dieser Stelle entstand unter Betreuung von Prof. Dr. Constanze Janda ihre Dissertation. Seit 2023 arbeitet sie als Wissenschaftliche Mitarbeiterin am Fachgebiet Bürgerliches Recht und Arbeitsrecht in der digitalen Gesellschaft (Prof. Dr. Isabell Hensel) an der Universität Kassel. 2024 wurde sie durch die Universität Speyer promoviert.
