This book examines India's current energy scenario with only a few years remaining to achieve SDG-7. It explores the well-formulated initiatives that are yielding positive results, identifies areas that require accelerated efforts, and investigates the obstacles preventing India from reaching the SDG-7 target. The book discusses various research activities and financial policies introduced by India to achieve universal, non-polluting energy by 2030. It also examines a successful model country that has attained energy security, offering insights for India to follow. The book scrutinizes existing policies, proposes reforms, and offers guidance to navigate regulatory challenges for the effective execution of sustainable energy projects. It focuses on exploring decentralized energy solutions, financing models, and community engagement strategies to enhance energy access, especially in underserved regions. The book is aimed at scholars and researchers in fields such as environmental science, sustainable development, and energy studies, as well as professionals from the energy industry, professionals from NGOs and international organisations working in sustainable and equitable energy practices, business leaders and financiers who are interested in investing in the field of sustainable energy, and government officials involved in formulating energy policies that align with the sustainable development goals.
