Beschreibung

Alcohol Fuels in Advanced Combustion Strategy Mode Diesel Engines investigates the utilization of alcohol-based fuels in diesel engines with specific emphasis on advanced combustion modes, including homogeneous charge compression ignition (HCCI), premixed charge compression ignition (PCCI), partially premixed compression ignition (PPCI), and dual fuel reactivity-controlled compression ignition (RCCI).
Exploring the application of wavelet power spectrum analysis, the book demonstrates its use as a technique for evaluating the stability of combustion in a diesel engine operating in low-temperature combustion (LTC) mode. It identifies the most effective injection timing when using alcohol-diesel blended fuels across different engine loads to achieve the low-temperature PPC strategy.
The book will interest industry professionals in automotive and fuels engineering working with alcohol fuels, advanced combustion mode diesel engines, engine instrumentation, and environmental challenges.

Portrait

Sarbjot Singh Sandhu is an Associate Professor in Dr B R Ambedkar National Institute of Technology, Jalandhar. He obtained a B.E degree in Mechanical Engineering and Ph.D. in the area of alternative fuels for IC engines. His areas of research include emission control, fuel efficient engines, and alternative fuels for combustion engines, advanced combustion strategies in CI engines, and low temperature combustion. In 2017, he successfully completed one SERB DST sponsored research project titled "Comparative Performance Evaluation, Emissions and Combustion Characteristic s of a Compression Ignition Engine using Castor Biodiesel". Dr. Sandhu has published more than 35 research papers in international journals of repute. He has supervised 5 doctoral theses and 14 masters' theses. Currently, he is working on utilization of alcohol fuels in CI Engines to achieve low temperature combustion and thus achieve very low emissions.
Prem Kumar is currently pursuing his Ph.D. at the Dr. B. R. Ambedkar National Institute of Technology, Jalandhar. He received his M.Tech degree in Energy Systems from the Indian Institute of Technology, Roorkee, in 2014. His main research interests are focused on advanced combustion technologies, alternative fuels, and combustion and emission control for compression ignition engines. He has authored over twelve publications in peer-reviewed journals, conference proceedings, and book chapters.
Mandeep Singh is working as a Technical Consultant at Ministry of Heavy Industries (MHI), Udyog Bhavan, New Delhi. Dr. Singh received his doctorate degree from Dr BR Ambedkar National Institute of Technology, Jalandhar, Punjab in March 2022. Dr. Singh has published over 10 publications, and he has over 10 years of teaching and research experience. The key areas of his present research work are Alternative Fuels for Internal Combustion Engines, Implementation of low temperature combustion techniques along with alternate fuels, IC engine Emission Control and Fuel-Efficient Engines.
