Red rebel

The Red Rebel is a historical novel by the Yemeni writer and literary figure Ali Ahmed Bakathir. It recounts events from a period in Islamic history, between 200-300 AH, telling the story of the rise of the Qarmatian sect and its founder, Hamdan al-Qarmati, and how he rebelled against the Abbasid state, which was in a state of relative stagnation at the time, with feudal lords controlling many aspects of life.
