"Church and parachurch organizations influence every believer across the globe, with expressions ranging from campus ministries to mission agencies to church-planting networks and everything in between. Yet Christian ministries often compete against each other for people and resources, and evangelical fragmentation and silos prevent cooperation and collaboration. In an age when people wonder whether the church is of any good, Angie Ward has a broader vision of church that encompasses and moves beyond all of its organizational expressions. She gives a history and theology of the church and parachurch and forges a new paradigm of missional extensions that free us from institutional silos. Rather than focusing on structures and institutions, Ward focuses on apostolic function, calling church in all its forms to be an ecosystem of networks to grow in missional witness, unity, and impact. The time is right for a fresh vision for partnership among kingdom-minded organizations"--
Angie Ward (PhD, Southern Baptist Theological Seminary) is director of the Doctor of Ministry program and associate professor of leadership and ministry at Denver Seminary.
