There has been a murder in the quiet seaside village of Sutherlandtown ... Anna Katharine Green (1846-1935) was an American poet and novelist. She was one of the first detective fiction writers in America and distinguished her work by writing well-plotted, legally accurate stories. She has been called "the mother of the detective novel."
