Interior Design Since 1900

This revised and expanded history of interior design from the 19th-century Arts and Crafts movement to the present day is packed with examples and analysis of all the major styles and trends, including Art Nouveau, Bauhaus, the Modern Movement and Art Deco through to Post-Modern and Hi-Tech Design. The author has brought the book right up to date with a new chapter on sustainable interior design, focusing on public spaces such as hotels, offices and shops.

Anne Massey is a design curator, researcher and writer. She has organised exhibitions at the Hatton Gallery, Newcastle and the Institute of Contemporary Arts, London as well as contributing to exhibition catalogues published by the Haus de Kunst, Munich; the V & A; the Whitechapel Gallery and the Kunstmuseum Wolfsburg. She studied the history of modern art and design at Northumbria University, where she also awarded her PhD. She has worked as Professor of Design and Culture at several UK universities and was the founding editor of Interiors: Design, Architecture, Culture. She is presently Professorial Fellow at the University for the Creative Arts.
