An Ayurvedic Perspective of Dyslipidemia

Dyslipidemia is not a disease, but rather a stage in the pathogenesis of various disorders ranging from atherosclerosis to Steatohepatitis. On focusing on the features, we easily find that the sthaulya/medoroga has a close resemblance with dyslipidemia.Another strong view that supports that these are almost similar is that lipids or fats are correlated with Medodhatu of Ayurveda and in sthaulya/medoroga, the main dushya is medodhatu. This book emphasizes on different perspectives of dyslipidemia from the sight of Ayurveda and Modern Sciences.

Dr. Arpit Kumar Shrivas did his graduation and post-graduation in Kayachiktsa from Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi. He is now appointed as Medical Officer in UPPSC.  Dr. Vandana Singh did her graduation and post-graduation in Dravyaguna from Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi. Currently, she is pursuing her Ph.D. degree from BHU.
