Beschreibung

What if the secret to getting more done isn't doing more at all, but doing one thing that makes everything else easier? Modern life rewards the busy and the responsive, yet leaves so many capable people exhausted, scattered, and quietly stalled. In One Move, consultant and former COO Brennan Renvik dismantles the myth of the multitasker and reveals why ordinary effort produces ordinary results-no matter how hard you work. Drawing on cognitive science, real-world case studies, and a career spent scaling high-growth companies, One Move shows you how to find the single high-leverage action that topples every other task like a domino, then protect the time, energy, and focus required to actually do it.
Inside, you'll discover:

- Why multitasking secretly sabotages your brain-and what to do instead - The focusing question that turns an overwhelming to-do list into a clear daily priority - How to plan backward from your biggest goals to the one step you can take right now - The art of time blocking and defending your focus against interruptions, requests, and guilt - Why energy management beats time management for deep, high-quality work - How to reset quickly when you inevitably drift-and design a life around what matters most

Stop juggling thirty tasks. Master the one move that changes everything.

Portrait

Brennan Renvik is an American consultant and former operations executive specializing in operational efficiency, leadership, and the personal productivity of technology-company leaders. He earned an engineering degree from a leading American university and an MBA from one of the top U.S. business schools. Over twelve years in the SaaS and fintech industries, he rose from head of operations to COO, guiding one B2B SaaS company from $7M to $90M in ARR and an exit to a strategic acquirer, before serving three years as COO of a fintech unicorn with fifteen hundred people across ten time zones. That experience gave rise to his "Single Action Method": the principle that every project, meeting, document, or decision must end with one clear next step, with a specific owner and date. Today he runs a consulting practice for the CEOs and COOs of scale-up companies, leads cohort programs for operations directors, and coaches senior executives on leadership and personal effectiveness. His books explore operational discipline in the era of distributed work, leadership as a daily engineering task, and the personal productivity of the leader.
