From the Preface: "This collection of Short Stories includes six of my readers' favourites, and seven new short stories which I wrote during the pandemic. They say, 'out with the old and in with the new' but I say let's look at the entire view." Author Cathy McGough
Step into a collection by Canadian Author Cathy McGough, where each short story takes you into the world of new characters and genres: The first story, "Dandelion Wine" was a 2019 Readers' Favourite Finalist in the Short Story/Novela genre and was awarded FIVE STARS by Readers Favourite. It is a flashback to 1967, about a little girl "with a purpose" living in a small Canadian town. The second story, "The Brightest Star" is a romantic love story with a difference. The third, "Margaret's Revelation" is about a woman who is taken for granted and decides to do something about it. The fourth, "The Umbrella and the Wind" is Sci-Fi story which was originally published in an anthology. It is about a teacher, an umbrella, flying bottles, a giant green object, umbrellas, and guns. The fifth, "Darryl and Me" is the tragic story of a woman and loss. The sixth, "Death Wish" in which the protagonist, bored with his hum drum life, steps outside of himself. In the SEVEN NEW STORIES included you'll meet a Pandemic Superhero, hear a mother as she recounts meeting her husband to her daughter, be a part of a home hunter's nightmare, listen to all the drama of a family planning a funeral during covid, and finally is a Sci-fi tale about something like a covid in the future.
Heartwarming, amusing, bittersweet, thought-provoking, this collection invites you to jump into and discover which story stays with you the longest.
For readers who like a wide variety of themes, characters, and genres with lasting impact.
