The illustrations were originally painted by a Victorian artist called Jeter Day who disappeared one night in an enchanted forest when he was spirited away by tree nymphs never to be seen again...

Novelist Ben Aaronovitch is best known for his Rivers of London series which has sold over a million copies worldwide. He is also known for his TV writing, especially on Doctor Who, where he wrote fan-favourites Remembrance of the Daleks and Battlefield. He has also written Casualty and Jupiter Moon.

Andrew Cartmel has had a long and varied career in TV and publishing. A script editor on both Doctor Who and Casualty, where he met Ben Aaronovitch. He is also the author of The Vinyl Detective series of crime novels for Titan Books. Celeste Bronfman is an award winning, Los Angeles-based writer whose recent credits include the Emmy-award winning series DEGRASSI and Discovery Kids' BIG TOP ACADEMY. In addition to her television work, Celeste is a comic book writer who has written for titles such as STAR TREK, MY LITTLE PONY, and THE RIVERS OF LONDON.
