Private insurance law is a dynamic field of private law with numerous connections to civil law. At its core, it is concerned with making a wide variety of risks manageable for individuals through contractual arrangements, thereby providing legal and planning certainty. Christian Armbrüster examines the legal framework governing these arrangements. Since the publication of the previous edition in 2019, private insurance law has continued to develop dynamically. Societal events such as the Covid-19 pandemic, the growing threat of cyberattacks, and the increasing importance of sustainability issues have left their mark on legislation, case law, and product development. These developments, along with recent legal trends relating to the "classical" topics of private insurance law, are reflected in the present new edition.
