The Eurasian Way of War

This book is a comparative study of military practice in Sui-Tang China and the Byzantine Empire between 600 and 700 CE. It highlights the many similarities in military practice, arguing that this reflected the need to deal with common problems, in particular the nomadic peoples of the Eurasian steppes.
