David Dominé didn't know what he was getting himself into when he moved to Kentucky in 1993. He had only planned on staying a year, but Louisville, the bustling river city with the split-personality--is it northern or southern?--quickly won him over. It had wonderful restaurants, a vibrant art scene, great architecture, historic neighborhoods and more. He became one of its biggest fans and began writing travel pieces extolling the virtues of his adopted hometown for local and national publications. Several years later he won acclaim for his first book, GHOSTS OF OLD LOUISVILLE: True Stories of Hauntings in America's Largest Victorian Neighborhood, which he wrote after a series of unexplained occurrences in his Victorian house led him to research the haunted history of the neighborhood. Since then he has authored several more books, including his first cookbook and a series about the haunted history of his adopted city. His most recent project, The Bourbon Cookbook, will be released in early 2011. Travel has always been a great passion for David, and he has lived in the Philippines, Mexico, Spain, Italy, Austria and Germany--all places that allowed him to indulge his passion for food, wine and adventure. He holds post-graduate degrees from the University of Louisville, the University of California at Santa Barbara and Karl-Franzens-Universität in Graz, Austria. When not writing or teaching, he likes to sneak off with his dogs and look for interesting places to write about and good places to eat.
