The War on Tenure

This book describes tenure-stream academia as an industry like any other and explains why tenure provides a reasonable level of job security for academics. The book is for current and aspiring academics as well as for critics, parents, and legislators who wonder what's so unusual about academia.

Deepa Das Acevedo is a legal anthropologist and employment law scholar. Her previous books include Beyond the Algorithm: Qualitative Insights for Gig Work Regulation (2020) and The Battle for Sabarimala: Religion, Law, and Gender in Contemporary India (2024).
